Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Marine Structural Welders for projects located in the Newport News, VA area. This is a first shift opportunity, and the pay rate is up to $45/hour based on experience plus $120/day per diem for travelers 60+ miles from the job site. Job Scope:
- Multipass: All position fillet and butt welds using the following processes: SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) FCAW (Flux Cored Arc Welding) and GMAWP (Pulse Arc Welding)
- Heating with Oxygen/Propane Heating Torch
- Air Carbon Arc Gouging
- Other tasks assigned
Requirements
- Must be able to pass a weld test
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations relative to the shipbuilding industry
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience
- Must have NNS or Naval Shipyard experience
- Experience working in a physically demanding environment shipboard sub-assemblies ladders staging etc
