GeoSonics, Inc., a seismic consulting company, is seeking an Engineering Intern to join our teamat our St. Petersburg, Florida location.
As an Engineering Intern, you will be responsible for assisting in all projects related to the research and design of our new and existing seismograph systems to include various sensor suites.

What You'll Be Doing:
Evaluate power systems, including battery performance, solar charging, and power management.
Shock and vibration testing of hardware, ensuring devices withstand transport and in-field use.
Support field teams with physical installation brackets, pole mounts, or protective cases.
Assist in PCB testing and validation for signal integrity, solder quality, and sensor connections.
Help develop test fixtures for validation of circuit boards.
Support calibration of analog sensors (transducers) for vibration and acoustic monitoring (e.g., geophones, accelerometers, microphones).
Assist in machine fabrication and assembly using various power tools.
Support production equipment maintenance of mills, drill presses, lathes and bandsaws.
Document and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) for safety, assembly, and testing.
Track inventory usage and help manage BOMs (Bills of Materials) to ensure components are available and efficiently used.

Your Background, Skills and Experience:
Undergraduate Junior or Senior preferred
Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
Experience with electronic test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, Electronic loads, digital multimeters, or signal generators
Knowledge of analog, digital circuits and calibration
Design by prototyping or fabrication (3D Printing)
Programming Languages: Python, MATLAB
Microsoft Office Proficient
Technical writing, Procedure development
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented, organized and dedicated to quality
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while working independently or in collaboration with others
