We are seeking a Nuclear Safety Analyst, USQDs to join our team supporting the Oak Ridge National Laboratory! This position is full-time and will be based out of Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Responsibilities
Supports the execution of Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS) guiding principles, core functions, and the Isotek Safety Culture.
Implements and maintains compliance with the Unreviewed Safety Question (USQ) Program as required by 10 CFR 830 Subpart B.
Reviews drafts of work packages, procedures, facility modifications, and other documents for impacts to the safety basis and integration of the SA into facility activities.
Identifies and escalates potential USQ issues to facility management.
Attends Plan of the Day/Plan of the Week meetings, work planning sessions, walkdowns, and Data Review Committee meetings as necessary in support of facility operations.
Develops and peer reviews USQ Determinations (USQDs), USQD Screenings, and provides training on the USQ process while also recommending changes to the USQD procedure.
Assists in obtaining DOE approval for positive USQDs.
Maintains a log of USQD and USQD Screens and maintains USQD training media.
Develops annual USQD report for submittal to DOE.
Requirements
Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related science with a minimum of 2 years’ job-related experience, of which 1 year is nuclear, OR 4 years job-related nuclear experience.
Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.
Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Strong communication, verbal and written skills.
Ability to communicate complex technical and regulatory issues.
Ability to work independently.

Must have Real ID compliant identification to access the work location.
