Position Summary

The Department of Design and Construction Management is currently accepting applications for adjunct faculty members who are knowledgeable in the field of design and construction management and who are passionate about imparting their knowledge to future generations (See BYU-Idaho Catalog for a list of current CM and VDC courses). As a key member of our academic community, successful applicants will contribute to the university’s mission of educating and preparing students for a lifetime of learning, leadership, and service.

Adjunct faculty members are responsible to model correct procedures and best teaching practices in the classroom; to oversee and teach lab classroom setup and clean up procedures; to grade and provide feedback on multiple lesson plans per semester and return to students in a timely manner; to hold pre-plan and/or consultation meetings with students; to observe lesson implementation and return feedback to student in a timely manner.

Adjunct positions are contracted on a semester-by-semester basis.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Bachelor’s degree required. Any combination of formal education, field experience, or teaching experience as a land surveyor will be considered. Current or former licensure as a Professional Land Surveyor is highly desired. A strong commitment to excellence in teaching is advantageous.

Work Schedule

Final work schedule is determined by Department Chair.

This course is typically taught 2 afternoons per week. This includes approximately 1 hour of in-class instruction followed by a 3-hour lab period. The labs are conducted outside.

Physical Requirements

The ability to perform all essential duties of the position. This includes providing instruction in an outdoor environment.  

Pay Rate

Dependent on education.
