Asphalt Milling Machine Operators

2401 S. Broadway Ave. Moore, OK 73160, USA *Full-Time

Silver Star Construction is now seeking a motivated individuals for our asphalt milling division. The milling machine operator will perform milling operations on roadways, berms and parking lots. This position reports to the division manager and will perform turnkey milling operation tasks while following all safety policies. The milling machine operator will work outdoors in all weather conditions. Asphalt Experience Strongly Preferred.

JOB DUTIES:

• • Responsible for control and operation of the milling machine
  • Operates milling machine to properly mill asphalt to desired specifications based on usage
  • Manipulates hand or foot levers to control movements of milling machine that mills asphalt on roadways and related surfaces such as parking lots, streets, etc.
  • May perform other related duties, such as preventive maintenance on all milling machinery
  • Responsible for daily checks of the milling drum, conveyors and water supply systems
  • The operator is responsible for the efficient working condition of the equipment and is expected to perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the Foreman or Superintendent
  • Must maintain an acute sense of awareness to the surrounding footprint of the machine (watch for obstructions while operating the equipment, such as ground utilities, curb and gutters)
  • Maintain constant visual contact with co-workers on the ground and trucks in front of the machine

    Requirements:

    • • Must be 18 years of age or older
      • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
      • Excellent communication skills
      • Pass a drug screen prior to employment
      • Strict adherence to PPE and DOT safety
      • Be physically capable of performing all laborer duties including but not limited to:
      • Ability to work in all weather conditions (cold, heat, snow, rain, wind)
      • Job requires the following motions: stretching, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, throwing, walking, standing, reaching and squatting.
      • Requires regular lifting of up to 50 pounds.
      • Experience operating a milling machine.
