Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Parts Purchasing Agent, the Parts Runner ensures the timely and efficient pickup and delivery of parts, supplies, and inter-office mail. This role involves traveling to various locations, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, and supporting the parts department as needed, all while adhering to company safety standards and core values.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Embrace and promote the company's vision and core values.
  • Pick up and deliver inter-office mail between company locations, ensuring timely and accurate distribution.
  • Retrieve parts, equipment, and supplies from vendors and shops, ensuring proper documentation and delivering them to designated destinations.
  • Maintain organized receipts, packing slips, and delivery documentation.
  • Verify the accuracy of parts orders against invoices or delivery receipts at the point of pickup.
  • Safely secure all loads transported in the company vehicle, using straps or other equipment as necessary to prevent damage during transit.
  • Load and unload trucks safely at various sites, secure items for transport, ensuring proper handling to avoid damage to items.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, functionality, and scheduled maintenance of the company vehicle, including routine inspections and reporting any mechanical issues.
  • Track, organize, and document all parts and supplies being picked up or delivered, maintaining clear records of transactions.
  • Operate a forklift to load and unload heavy or bulky items safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with inventory management in the parts room, including stocking shelves, organizing supplies, and conducting periodic inventory counts.
  • Monitor and report any discrepancies in orders or damaged items immediately to the supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and healthy work environment by adhering to company safety protocols and standards.
  • Provide support to other departments or team members as requested, including helping with large deliveries or urgent pickups.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently, proactively, and with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in locating addresses efficiently and following detailed instructions accurately.
  • Basic understanding of computer and office technology, including Microsoft Office products.
  • Basic mechanical understanding.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean and insurable driving record.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent travel between various company locations and vendor sites throughout the day.
  • Exposure to outdoor working conditions, including inclement weather, as required.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds; occasionally lift and move heavier items with assistance or specialized equipment.
  • Frequently perform physical tasks such as lifting items above head height, climbing in and out of pickup truck beds, and maneuvering in tight spaces.
  • Perform repetitive motions, including reaching, grabbing, and holding objects for extended periods.
  • Work on uneven or rough terrain, requiring balance and coordination.
  • Frequently stoop, crouch, kneel, and crawl to access or secure items.
  • Maintain the physical stamina to perform continuous loading, unloading, and driving throughout the day.
  • Use proper ergonomic techniques and lifting practices to prevent injury during physical tasks.
