Job summary

Oversee the picking function in the warehouse, ensuring procedures are followed and production standards are met, all while maintaining a safe and respectful work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support fellow team leaders/managers to achieve a quality-driven system.
    • Understand how the entire system operates.
  • Oversee daily operations flow:
    • Ensure all imported orders are picked accurately (correct item, quantity, unit of measure) and shipped each day.
    • Daily monitoring of the Unacknowledged Report:
      • Locate orders and identify the reasons they appear on the report.
      • Ensure orders are processed through the entire workflow.
    • Daily review of "On Hold" orders:
      • Resolve issues causing orders to be placed on hold.
    • Provide clear instructions and communication to team members.
    • Facilitate problem-solving and collaboration, addressing the root cause of issues.
    • Approve time-off requests while ensuring the process flow remains uninterrupted.
    • Be certified and proficient in operating Forklifts, Cherry Pickers, and Pallet Jacks.
    • Know how to effectively use hand-held scanners and navigate through TWC/CSD.
  • Provide team coverage in the event of absence, requesting additional support from other teams as needed.
  • Monitor team quality and raise concerns with the Warehouse Manager.
    • Set goals for the team and develop strategies to achieve them.
    • Track KPIs: Know what to measure and how to measure it.
    • Recognize and celebrate team achievements and exceptional performance.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, motivating others to do the same.
    • Actively listen to feedback from team members.
    • Assign disciplinary actions when necessary to improve performance and quality.
    • Take responsibility for the team's output, ensuring consistently high-quality standards..
  • Provide necessary training to team members.
    • Monitor team members' participation to ensure training is being applied effectively and evaluate if additional training is needed.
  • Plan and organize timely performance reviews and set clear objectives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.​
  • Proven leadership abilities with experience in supervising and motivating teams to meet productivity standards.​
  • Strong attendance record, demonstrating reliability and commitment.​
  • Proficiency in operating computers, with a solid understanding of relevant software applications.​
