Pipefitter Apprentice – Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking motivated Pipefitter Apprentices to join our dynamic team! This is an exciting opportunity to grow your skills, work alongside experienced journeymen, and build a long-term career in the piping and construction industry.

As an apprentice, you will assist with the installation, maintenance, and fabrication of piping systems while learning the trade hands-on. Over the course of your apprenticeship, you will gain valuable technical knowledge and professional skills that set you up for a successful career as a journeyman pipefitter.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist journeyman pipefitters or peers with demolition, de-installation, rigging, fitting, and installation of equipment, supports, and piping systems

  • Proactively receive mentorship and guidance from journeyman pipefitters and supervisors

  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively (certifications required where applicable)

  • Learn and apply knowledge over the four-year apprenticeship, including:

    • Layout, fabrication, assembly, and installation of piping systems

    • Reading and interpreting isometric drawings

    • Reading construction and shop drawings for piping systems

    • Inspecting, testing, and ensuring compliance of piping systems

    • Understanding and applying industry codes and standards

  • Maintain accurate records of on-the-job training and submit documentation to the apprenticeship program as required

  • Follow all safety rules, regulations, and best practices at all times

  • Work extended hours, weekends, or holidays as project requirements dictate

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Successfully pass background check and drug/alcohol testing
    One year of construction experience preferred

  • OSHA 10 certification desired

  • Valid driver’s license with a favorable driving record preferred

  • Knowledge of good health and safety practices in construction preferred

  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
