Plan Reviewer/Admin – Tampa, FL
Twining Consulting Inc., dba RADCO, a nationally recognized Design Approval & Plan Inspection Agency (DAPIA) for HUD manufactured homes and State modular program industrialized buildings, is seeking a Plan Reviewer/Admin. It is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is looking to make an immediate impact and for a candidate looking to grow within the organization.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform multi-discipline plan reviews of model plan residential and commercial buildings under governing codes.
- Work closely with senior plan reviewers, inspectors, and management to ensure all plans meet the necessary standards before approval.
- Communicate deviations verbally or in writing to manufacturers and clients.
- Provide consultations on regulatory and code issues.
- Assist in scheduling meetings, inspections, and plan review sessions. Track and update deadlines to ensure timely reviews and approvals.
- Input data related to building plans and inspections. Prepare reports, correspondence, and other documents as needed.
- Coordination of general office tasks such as answering phones, managing office supplies, and assisting with billing and invoicing when required.
Required Competencies:
- BS in engineering or architecture; a plus.
- 1 - 5 years of recent experience in plan checking for both residential and commercial.
- ICC plan examiner certification in one or more categories.
- Extensive knowledge of the IECC, along with the REScheck and COMcheck building energy code compliance software through the U.S. Department of Energy.
- Knowledge of wood, concrete, and steel construction codes such as NDA, ASCE, ACI, AISC.
- Good communication skills (verbal & written). Work with clients in a professional and courteous manner.
- Experienced in computer software programs such as Office, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Ability to meet deadlines and handle several projects at a time.
