SUMMARY: 

Provide engineering programs and support to superintendents, guiding assigned personnel to meet cost and time schedules. Verify materials, equipment, and workmanship to ensure results align with design requirements. If assigned, lead construction engineers in a wide range of construction engineering tasks within a specific discipline or area of the site. Daily manage and coordinate with field engineering staff to address problems and meet project management needs. Oversee and support turnover activities, representing construction at project and site-related committee meetings. Review national codes, standards, site specifications, and procedures. Administer and approve performance evaluations, rankings, career development, and training for field engineers. Supply design agencies with technical construction input for design development. Monitor adherence to EPA and South Carolina Waste Management regulations, along with site-specific procedures. Observe contractors' activities and performance, addressing their concerns through coordination with other SRNS departments. Review and manage the execution of project design and maintenance activities using existing specifications, national codes and standards, drawings, and the latest construction techniques. Interface and coordinate all construction aspects with design, procurement, security, safety, operations, health physics, quality control, scheduling, and cost management while supervising daily field engineering activities. Ensure work quality matches requirements by maintaining continuity with quality control. Collaborate with design agencies to guarantee the timely issuance of new designs or changes. Conduct constructability inspections and provide technical expertise on construction methods and practices. Ensure that construction work is executed correctly and comprehensively. Offer leadership, guidance for continuous improvement, re-engineer processes, foster team relationships, and uphold safety.

  1. Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and 8 - 10 years of practical experience in
    construction engineering or related areas. An Associate's degree and 10 - 12 years of practical experience would be considered equivalent. A high school diploma and 12 - 16 years of practical experience would also be considered equivalent. Please Answer:

  8. At least (2) years of experience performing NQA-1 electrical work. Please Answer:
