Principal Financial Analyst (Business Analyst - Cost Controls)
Supporting SRS, Aiken, SC
Hybrid - Potential to work from home 2 days a week
6 month contract with two 6 month options

Estimated pay rate: $77.50/hour with a standard benefits package

DUTIES:
Responsible for performing as the Senior Advisor to senior management for the execution, development, implementation, maintenance, and accountability of total project controls, financial analysis, or estimating applications. Provides leadership and guidance enabling improved planning, scheduling, financial analysis, and cost control throughout the life cycle of highly complex projects or programs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic guidance related to highly complex project controls, financial, planning, and scheduling activities
  • Developing project baseline plans, milestone schedules, work breakdown structures, and spend plans
  • Maintaining working knowledge of business systems and recommending process improvements
  • Providing technical direction, coordination, evaluation, training, and coaching to project controls and financial analysts
  • Developing and delivering training programs in project controls, financial controls, and planning/scheduling systems
  • Leading preparation and presentation of financial and project information to senior and executive leadership
  • Conducting complex financial and technical analyses involving multiple disciplines
  • Performing risk analyses and recommending corrective actions and priorities
  • Acting as a business and financial advisor to project management teams and senior leadership
  • Developing innovative strategies and resolving complex financial and business issues independently
  • Supporting government compliance activities and regulatory accounting requirements
  • Working with DOE/NNSA, government auditors, internal audit, and executive leadership on financial matters
  • Assisting with Cost Accounting Standards Board Disclosure Statements and Incurred Cost Submissions
  • Participating in process improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in business, construction management, engineering, technical discipline, or related field with 15 years of practical experience
    OR
  • Bachelor's degree with 18 years of practical experience
    OR
  • Associate's degree with 20 years of practical experience
    OR
  • High school diploma with 22 years of relevant experience
  • Strong personal computer skills
  • Expert proficiency with automated accounting, cost management, scheduling, and estimating systems
  • Extensive experience using site business systems
  • Expert-level knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proven experience negotiating complex FAR and CAS issues with government agencies
  • Previous experience working with DCAA, GAO, OIG, or similar government auditing entities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8+ years of government contractor accounting compliance experience
