Job Summary
The Production Assistant will schedule production. In addition, will verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment.
Job Responsibilities
- Implement the daily/weekly production schedule through communication and follow-up with process leads
- Assist in planning and communicating project related information
- Interface with all facets of the operation: manufacturing, sales, safety, customers and other related personnel in and out of the company
- Promote awareness for safety programs/initiatives
- Investigate and recommend improvements including tracking improvements
- Respond to sales and manufacturing teams needs

Compare information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
- Operate forklifts to stack and retrieve supplies and materials
- Document and maintain inventory and ensuring production area organization and cleanliness
- Receive, unpack and examine incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
- Check and store merchandise or materials
- Fill requisition and orders
- Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
- Operate tier lift truck to load and unload trucks
- Assist in setting up and performing cycle counts for inventory management
- Assist in writing and updating production and safety SOP’s and VOP’s
- Assist in reviewing BOM’s for accuracy, update as needed
- Run daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports for review with Production and Plant Manager
- Assist in reconciling production reporting and actual attainment
- Other duties may be assigned as needed
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to read / write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Training and/or forklift experience necessary
- Ability to multitask, be detailed oriented and possess strong organization skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the company
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs
