Summary
We are seeking a CEI Project Administrator / Project Engineer with strong experience in FDOT projects to take on a crucial role in overseeing project administration.
 
Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, collaborate with and provide direction to project teams, utilize MS Office, including creating Excel spreadsheets with formulas, work independently, solving work-related problems with initiative and judgment, assign specific tasks to administrative and field staff, assisting in all phases of construction projects
  • Managing projects, interacting directly with clients and prospects, and handling client-facing communication
  • Monitoring project progress to ensure alignment with schedules and contract requirements
  • Reviewing and modifying project schedules, specifications, and drawings
  • Preparing Supplemental Agreements and Work Orders in accordance with FDOT specifications
  • Actively pursuing future work opportunities.
Qualifications
  • A valid Driver's License is required with a safe driving record and must complete a pre-employment screening.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. 
  • ICE is a drug-free workplace.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Familiarity with Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) projects; FDOT experience preferred.
  • The following certifications must be obtained within 6 months from the date of hire: FDOT Advanced MOT, CTQP Final Estimates Level II, CTQP Quality Control Manager, and Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors
Licensure Requirement
  • The ideal candidate must be a registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Florida. If currently registered in another state, the endorsement in the State of Florida must be obtained within 6 months of receiving the project notice to proceed (NTP).
  • For individuals with degrees in engineering, engineering technology, or construction management must have 2 years of relevant engineering experience in transportation projects. A master’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, or construction management may substitute for 1 year of engineering experience.
  • For individuals without degrees in engineering, engineering technology, or construction management must have 8 years of experience in CEI, roadway, or bridge construction, with at least 2 years in relevant transportation projects.
Physical Demands
This position requires minimal lifting of up to 50 pounds sometimes on a frequent basis. The employee must be able to travel and tour work sites under adverse environmental conditions not limited to loud noise levels, high dust and dirt, and extreme temperature. The employee must be able to visually examine construction materials and finished structures and work in various types of weather and field conditions, including heights, uneven terrain, highway traffic, hazards of highway construction sites and heavy equipment.
 
Expected Hours of Work
The ICE offices are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, allowing an unpaid hour for lunch daily. Work schedules may vary according to the project schedule.
