Seeking an experienced Project Construction Manager A to lead construction projects and maintenance activities supporting complex DOE/NNSA operations at the Savannah River Site. This position is responsible for managing multiple moderately complex, multi-million-dollar construction projects from conceptual design through project completion, with primary responsibility for safety, quality, schedule, and cost performance.

The selected candidate will lead a dedicated construction organization and provide oversight of project execution, subcontract administration, construction planning, risk mitigation, and turnover activities while ensuring compliance with site procedures and DOE requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage construction and maintenance activities for multiple multi-million-dollar projects from conceptual design through completion
  • Lead construction organizations and matrix personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution
  • Maintain accountability for project safety, schedule, cost, technical scope, and quality performance
  • Develop and implement construction strategies, work plans, and corrective actions to achieve project milestones
  • Perform risk analyses and make decisions regarding project priorities and corrective actions
  • Coordinate construction activities with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, DOE/NNSA representatives, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
  • Provide concise and accurate project status presentations related to technical, organizational, schedule, and financial matters
  • Manage project baselines, staffing, schedules, and budgets
  • Ensure construction efficiency through early project involvement during conceptual design, construction planning, execution, turnover, and closeout phases
  • Oversee subcontract administration and evaluate construction methods and execution strategies
  • Foster a collaborative team environment focused on safety, accountability, and operational excellence
  • Conduct performance management activities including mentoring, career development, performance reviews, and workforce development
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve complex construction-related issues impacting project performance
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety by prioritizing safety over schedule and cost considerations



Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

One of the following combinations is required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical discipline with 13-15 years of relevant construction experience
    OR
  • Associate degree with 15-17 years of relevant construction experience
    OR
  • High school diploma/GED with 17-19 years of relevant construction experience

Required Skills & Experience

  • Extensive experience managing large construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Construction management
    • Cost control and scheduling
    • Construction planning and execution
    • Subcontract administration
    • Project management principles
  • Experience developing and evaluating construction strategies and techniques
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage complex technical, organizational, and financial issues
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multiple organizations and disciplines
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE 'Q' Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous DOE or NNSA project experience
  • Prior experience supporting large-scale government or nuclear construction projects
  • Active or recently held DOE 'L' or 'Q' Clearance within the past two (2) years
  • Working knowledge of CAD and/or SmartPlant software
  • Multifaceted experience across multiple construction disciplines
  • Experience supporting operations, maintenance, startup, or construction management activities in highly regulated environments

Additional Requirements

  • Night shift position
  • Overtime may be required to support project deliverables
  • Candidate must maintain eligibility for site access and security requirements
  • Subcontractor employer must maintain active eFOCI registration and approved DOE/NNSA Facility Clearance
  • Travel, if required, must be approved in advance through procurement and authorized task order funding

Work Schedule

SRNS utilizes multiple work schedules including:

  • 5/8 Schedule: Five 8-hour days per week
  • 4/10 Schedule: Four 10-hour days per week
  • 9/80 Schedule: Eight 9-hour days and one 8-hour day over a two-week period

Each workday includes a 30-minute lunch break.

This position supports DOE/NNSA operations at the Savannah River Site and requires strict adherence to safety, security, quality assurance, and operational procedures. Candidates must be capable of working in a fast-paced construction environment supporting mission-critical projects.
