Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Project Controls Specialist to support cost and schedule
management for a portfolio of capital projects for an Electric Utility in Tampa, FL. This role
requires working on-site at the client office and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the
successful execution of high-impact projects.
Key Responsibilities:
● Apply advanced project controls techniques and analyses with minimal supervision.
● Address commercial issues and provide leadership and guidance to less experienced
project control personnel.
● Positively influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve successful project
outcomes.
● Ensure high forecasting accuracy and proactively address project challenges to support
successful outcomes.
● Lead proposal efforts and manage cost control on complex projects, addressing
contractual requirements.
● Develop and oversee planning and scheduling efforts, including startup planning and
scheduling forensics as required.
● Participate in critical project execution matters, risk management discussions, and
potential claims issues.
● Supervise project controls functions from home office to site, as appropriate, and
oversee subcontract administration when assigned.
Qualifications:
● Education:
○ Prefer Master's degree or equivalent in Engineering or Construction
Management.
○ Four-year Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant Cost Control or
Planning/Scheduling experience OR no degree required with 10+ years of
relevant experience in a Home or Field Office setting.
● Skills and Experience:
○ Expertise in project controls, cost forecasting, and schedule management.
○ Experience in contractual requirements related to cost and schedule control.
○ Strong leadership abilities to manage teams and influence stakeholders.
○ Proficiency in identifying critical issues and addressing them effectively.
