Big-D Construction has an opportunity for a Project Manager - Owner's Rep to join our team. This position will have responsibilities over projects in Salt Lake and Davis County. 

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Owner's Representative & Multi-Project Management: Acting as the Owner's Representative for clients with limited guidance, managing multiple projects concurrently to meet technical, regulatory, quality, scheduling, and budgetary requirements.
  • Project Leadership & Strategy: Developing and executing comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, and strategies. You'll also define detailed assumptions and methodologies to successfully achieve objectives.
  • Client Relationship Management: Serving as the primary client liaison, building strong relationships and ensuring their needs are met throughout the project lifecycle. You'll work closely with clients to define requirements, scope, and objectives during preconstruction and construction, ensuring a clear understanding of deliverables and performance standards.
  • Budget & Schedule Management: Developing detailed project budgets based on historical and market data. You'll also create and maintain primary project schedules, managing successful execution within intended timeframes, and overseeing project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful completion.
  • Design & Construction Oversight: Guiding clients and the project team through all project phases, including design implementation (conceptual, schematic, design development, construction documentation, and signoff), construction, and procurement. This includes reviewing and interpreting design drawings.
  • Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Coordinating with various stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors. You'll also prepare RFPs for vendor and contractor services, manage the selection process, and oversee vendor and project team performance to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and client expectations.
  • Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating potential risks and challenges throughout the project lifecycle, including areas of concern regarding potential liabilities and errors and omissions.
  • Quality & Safety Assurance: Implementing and ensuring compliance with the Company’s Safety and Quality Control Programs for each project.
  • Team Coordination & Communication: Facilitating project meetings and coordination exercises with internal staff, key stakeholders, and external users. You'll ensure responsibilities are efficiently communicated and understood and manage project performance against schedules and milestones.
  • Documentation & Administration: Organizing, tracking, and maintaining project documentation using SharePoint and other Microsoft products. You'll also assist in preparing and managing meeting minutes, agendas, budgets, schedules, and reports, and process change orders, RFIs, and submittals.
  • Value Engineering: Leading value engineering efforts and proposing alternative solutions with project stakeholders to optimize project outcomes.
  • Site Presence: Traveling independently to and from project/construction sites as needed to oversee progress and address issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in project management in general contracting
  • Experience working on commercial projects in excess of $15M
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of construction industry standards and regulations
  • Strong understanding of contract scopes and ability to align subcontract scopes with the Statement of Work (SOW)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with a focus on client satisfaction
  • Proficiency in project management software, Procore, Microsoft Office Suite, and scheduling tools
