Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Project Scheduler to support the planning and delivery of complex infrastructure programs within the DFW area. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules across engineering, procurement, and construction phases. The position works closely with project managers, technical leads, and construction teams to ensure schedule integrity, performance tracking, and timely project delivery.

The Project Scheduler will contribute to both project execution and proposal efforts by building and maintaining detailed CPM schedules, analyzing schedule performance, and identifying risks and corrective actions. This role plays a key part in ensuring alignment across multidisciplinary teams, supporting informed decision-making through accurate reporting and schedule analytics.

This position requires a strong understanding of scheduling methodologies, construction sequencing, and project controls practices. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to interpret drawings and specifications, apply earned value principles, and support schedule-related coordination across multiple stakeholders and systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and analyze CPM schedules for engineering, procurement, and construction projects
  • Support the development of project execution plans and proposal schedules
  • Analyze schedule data to identify critical issues, variances, and trends; recommend corrective actions
  • Exercise Oracle project controls tools including import, export, and data validation.
  • Guides other project controls team members in schedule health and performance metrics
  • Executes baseline change control operations.
  • Coordinate schedule inputs across project teams and functional disciplines to ensure alignment and accuracy
  • Update schedules and prepare scheduling and project performance reports for project and senior leadership
  • Support development and maintenance of work breakdown structures (WBS) and ensure consistent project coding across systems
  • Utilize drawings, specifications, and contract documents to support schedule development and updates
  • Perform resource loading and support schedule risk analysis and recovery planning efforts
  • Track progress, support performance measurement, and contribute to earned value analysis and schedule trend reporting
  • Support scope control and change management processes, including incorporation of approved changes into schedule baselines
  • Review contractor and subcontractor schedule performance and provide input on progress, risks, and corrective actions
  • Assist in the review of contractor invoices and validate progress against schedule performance
  • Assemble and validate data for schedule updates and reporting cycles
  • Participate in project planning and scheduling review meetings; may lead portions of schedule reviews
  • Support development and implementation of planning and scheduling procedures and best practices
  • Provide guidance and task-level direction to junior staff as needed

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure programs (aviation, transportation, rail, or civil works)
  • Working knowledge of earned value management (EVM) principles and performance measurement systems
  • Experience developing and maintaining CPM schedules for engineering and/or construction projects
  • Proficiency with scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction sequencing
  • Familiarity with schedule analysis techniques, including variance analysis and recovery planning
  • Experience with resource-loaded schedules and schedule risk analysis
  • Familiarity with project controls systems and integrated project delivery environments
  • Understanding of construction contracting practices and schedule implications of contract terms
  • Experience coordinating across multidisciplinary teams and supporting client-facing reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to proposal schedule development
  • Prior experience mentoring or supporting junior staff
