OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking a Project Purchasing Manager for our work on the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor in Cincinnati, OH.

The Project Purchasing Manager is responsible for the pricing and ordering of construction materials to support the project needs and schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage yard crews including disciplinary discretion and termination authority when necessary.

  • Develop schedules with Superintendents for each work task and determine the required materials that need to be available at the yard.

  • Keep sufficient inventory of materials available to support all project crews.

  • Review budgets before construction begins to confirm what cost are in the estimate with Project Management.

  • Develop pricing strategies that keep item cost at or below estimated cost.  Negotiate pricing with vendors to keep costs within or below budget.

  • Notify Project Management if any cost exceeds estimated cost per item and present recommendations on possible options.

  • Follow a systematic purchasing system and suggest advancement opportunities.

  • Ensure that materials are properly stored in the yard, promoting efficiency and safety.

  • Control Waste and ensure that tools and equipment are properly maintained.

  • Carry out job duties while maintaining Walsh values

  • And other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 years of experience managing crews

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
