We are seeking several Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) QA / QCI Technicians to join our team supporting Westinghouse Nuclear on their commercial nuclear projects! This position is expected to be full-time and will be based out of Manning, SC with nearly 100% travel; overtime/weekend work will be required (with per diem & overtime pay offered in addition to base pay).
Responsibilities
Conduct various forms of non-destructive testing (NDT) including MT, PT, VT, and interpret the results per the governing codes.
Utilize all applicable codes, standards, and other documents that control the NDT method being utilized.
Conduct examinations independently and troubleshoot equipment.
Interpret fabrication drawings.
Interpret inspection, test plans, and welding procedure specifications.
Complete required inspection reports.
Act as a liaison between the company and the customer inspector or the authorized Inspector as required.
Read and interpret governing codes.
Requirements
Education & Years of Experience – High School Diploma / GED and 3+ years of experience working as a Level II PT and VT.
Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.
Passport / Identification – Must have a valid Driver’s License and, due to the required travel, a passport is highly preferred.
Must have the NDT certifications for VT and PT; if you do not currently hold the certification, you must show certificate from classroom training, experience hours and required field experience.
Must be able to complete Classroom/OJT hours as required by ASNT-TC-1A (or equivalent) for Level II Training.
Must have basic math skills.
Must have strong oral/written communication and decision-making skills.
Must have an excellent work ethic.
Physical Requirements
Must have close, color, distance, and depth vision with the ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to climb, bend, crawl, and work in confined spaces.
Must have the ability to travel (when necessary).
Desired Skills
Prefer to have NDT certifications for MT and UT; if you do not currently hold the certification, you must show certificate from classroom training, experience hours and required field experience.
Prefer a CWI Certification from the American Welding Society (AWS).
Prefer someone that is detail- and customer-oriented.
Prefer someone with basic computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Prefer someone that is team-oriented and professionally minded.
