Reconstruction Repair Technician

 

The Reconstruction Repair Technician is responsible for performing repair and restoration tasks on structures or systems following damage or degradation, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. This role involves executing repair plans under the direction of supervisors or project managers, assisting in restoring the functionality and integrity of buildings, infrastructure, or machinery. The Technician works collaboratively with team members and may interact with clients, subcontractors, and other project personnel as needed. Key responsibilities include assessing repair tasks, completing assigned work, maintaining safety protocols, and documenting progress. This position requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills to handle repair challenges effectively.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

  • Self-motivated with the ability to complete assigned tasks efficiently
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of worker safety and job-specific procedures
  • Ability to meet quality standards while adhering to deadlines
  • Comfortable using computer systems to report job status and maintain documentation

 

Responsibilities and Duties: 

 

  • Perform all duties assigned by supervisors or project managers
  • Prepare materials and equipment for assigned jobs
  • Complete daily documentation, including Daily Crew Time Sheets, Vehicle Checklists, Production notes, Inventory lists with pictures, and breakage/damage reports
  • Dispose of trash appropriately and maintain a clean job site
  • Assist in cleaning company vehicles and equipment
  • Maintain a safe job site within OSHA standards
  • Perform repair tasks such as:
    • Taping, texturing, and painting
    • Basic finish carpentry
    • Hanging drywall, installing cabinetry and trim
    • Reading blueprints and navigating layouts
  • Perform physically demanding tasks including walking, bending, crawling, stooping, lifting, and carrying
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors

 

Qualifications and Experience:

 

  • 2+ years of experience in hanging, taping, and texturing drywall
  • 2+ years of experience in installing cabinetry and trim
  • Experience in residential and/or commercial building repairs
  • Experience with painting walls, trim, and building exteriors
  • Ability to read blueprints and navigate layouts
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the company
  • Experience in the water and fire restoration industry is a plus but not required
  • IICRC Certifications preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and able to pass a MVR check
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen

 

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Work primarily at client sites and job locations
  • Sustained periods of standing, walking, sitting, bending, or kneeling
  • Handling physically demanding tasks including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, crawling, stooping, and reaching
  • Work in confined or limited spaces as needed
  • Ability to work at heights over 5 feet when necessary

Compensation

$20.00-22.50 DOE plus overtime and on-call bonus
