Hurd Construction Management is a Jacksonville, Florida based commercial construction advisor and general contracting firm specializing in buildouts and renovations, new construction, and full site development where delivering a strong and consistent brand experience is crucial. Projects primarily include retail, restaurant, office and other commercial spaces throughout the entire state of Florida and Georgia. We partner with corporate construction and real estate teams and local operators who are multi-location expanders or brand renovators.
Our distinct focus is on delivering speed-to-market and financial risk mitigation by acting as a true strategic partner to our customers from day one.
This is a critical, high-impact role requiring a highly skilled individual contributor to take ownership of regional business development, translating our construction capabilities into compelling value for commercial occupiers, and ensuring consistent, high-quality sales execution across Florida and Georgia. This position is a foundational role with the explicit expectation to drive significant project acquisition and expand our footprint in the commercial real estate sector. You are the Sales CEO of your territory, responsible for translating customer needs into six, seven, eight figure deals.
Key Responsibilities
1) Hunt and Originate New Business
- Identify and engage commercial occupiers, real estate managers, architectural firms, construction managers, and project managers to secure net-new construction contracts.
- Quote and close by creating, presenting and negotiating the successful award of detailed bids and proposals, ensuring all technical requirements, value propositions, and pricing models are accurately presented to optimize resources.
- Utilize market intelligence tools like Construct Connect, CMD, and ZoomInfo to identify brands planning expansions or refreshes in our territory and position Hurd upstream.
2) Manage Pipeline Effectively
- Maintain strict data integrity and management of your sales funnel using the CRM database.
- Oversee customer account satisfaction while the project transitions from Sales Operations into and moves through Field Operations, ensuring the customer's needs are met and expectations are exceeded from the initial handshake to final site delivery.
- Develop and execute a detailed annual business plan for your defined territory, including target account identification, market SWOT analysis, and accurate 30-60-90 day forecasting of closing revenue.
3) Industry Leadership and Networking
- Actively participate in regional networking and professional associations to build trust, establish brand awareness, and develop long-term, meaningful relationships within different local markets.
- Strategically manage key existing accounts to expand their use of Hurd's product offerings, acting as the senior point of contact and customer liaison.
- Spend significant time in the field conducting site visits, face-to-face meetings, and attending industry events to continuously build brand visibility and generate new opportunities.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2–4 years of full-cycle, consultative B2B outside sales, consistently meeting or exceeding aggressive revenue targets. Preferably in commercial real estate brokerage (tenant rep), commercial construction, or corporate franchise development teams.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree. Major in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is highly preferred; extensive, relevant professional experience may substitute.
- CRM Proficiency: Expert use of CRM software (ie. Zoho, Salesforce) for pipeline management, accurate forecasting, quoting, and activity tracking.
- Travel: Must be comfortable with regular travel (up to 50%) across Florida and Georgia to cultivate out-of-market relationships, to meet decision-makers where they operate, and visit project sites.
- Strong financial and business acumen with the ability to sell value, speed, and risk mitigation.
- Ability to navigate corporate structures, present to C-suite executives, and articulate the financial benefits of partnering with a high-value, high-integration provider.
- Drive, self-starter, and "hunter" mentality.
