Regional Director

The Regional Director reports directly to the Vice President. Responsibilities are focused on cost estimates, material and labor requirements to complete all projects within the designated region’s scope, and playing a critical role in overseeing and supporting the designated area’s construction projects from conception to completion, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
The Regional Director is generally responsible for projects that may involve multiple competencies and in general, could have multiple projects reporting to them. Their leadership, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills are essential in supporting their Project Management teams’ successful execution of complex projects and maintaining strong relationships with all project stakeholders.
Primary responsibilities include estimating/bidding, contract administration, scheduling, planning, cost control, and coordination with job site supervision to ensure that projects are constructed safely in accordance with design, budget, and schedule. Coordinates with the projects regarding labor, equipment, trade contractors, and material suppliers, as well as coordinates construction means and methods and scheduling to achieve efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The Regional Director is also responsible for building effective relationships and problem-solving with the owners, trade contractors, and vendors. Will lead and participate in business development and estimating activities within their core competency. Is responsible for developing Project Managers and others in the management development program to help ensure that the company has the personnel necessary to meet staffing needs.
Essential Job Functions

- Ensures that all projects are performed safely while meeting the budget, schedule quality standards, and design specifications
- Provides leadership and direction regarding construction means, methods, and costs for new projects
- Provides leadership and direction to Project Managers, Project Superintendents, and field leadership. Ensures the development of leaders assigned to their projects. Coordinates with the Project Superintendents managing labor, equipment, trade contractors, and material suppliers
- Facilitates estimate reviews of take-offs for project budgets
- Directs pre-job planning including pre-job turnover, planning meetings, and lessons learned
- Ensures that project schedules and labor forecasts are created and maintained by the project teams for monitoring and reviewing critical path dates and milestone schedules
- Ensures that project budgets are properly set up for accurate cost coding & tracking
- Actively & continually monitors project budgets to ensure they are met
- Makes & implements recommendations to improve budgets and schedules based on monitoring & evaluation
- Ensures that the project teams submits invoices in a timely manner; continually monitors project cash flow and actively addresses issues with cash flow
- Ensures that the cost reports, cash flow, billings, and related reports are up-to-date and accurate within ERP
- Makes recommendations regarding construction means and methods
- Ensures that the activities of subs and suppliers are monitored and completed appropriately
- Leads claim and change order activities with project teams
- Ensures that Subcontracts and Purchase Order are completed correctly, on time and properly mitigate the risk
- Ensures that the project management team understands all subcontracts and purchase orders
- Evaluate qualified personnel and align their strengths to the project
- Leads project reviews and problem resolution with the owners, trade contractors & suppliers
- Maintains a positive professional working relationship with internal personnel, owners, trade contractors, and vendors
- Ensures that job close-out functions are completed in a timely manner
- Actively participates in business development & estimating activities within their core competency
- Self-motivated, proactive and team player that can establish an effective team to support our internal and external teams, clients as well as future opportunities
Education & Experience
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree or 6-7 years of electrical industry field experience
- 4-5 10+ years of managerial experience overseeing construction project teams, with a focus on electrical systems, client solutions and installations
- Established track record of successfully delivering multiple large-scale electrical construction projects safely, on time, and within budget
- Exceptional leadership abilities with experience in mentoring and developing project management teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal personnel, clients, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders
- Commitment to continuous learning and personal/professional development
- Willingness to travel, from time to time, within the region as required to support multiple project teams
- A history of collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and foster a culture of safety, growth and efficiency
PREFERRED:
- 10+ years of experience leading project management teams
- Strong project management software & Google Suite skills
- 10+ years of experience with critical and emergency electrical infrastructure, or data center infrastructure
- Strong in electrical estimating, estimating software, scheduling and budget management
