Job Purpose:
The Florida Regional Operations Manager is a key leadership position reporting directly to the Regional Vice President. This role is responsible for high level operational assessments, collaborating and executing in conjunction with District Managers and Region Leadership to develop plans to enhance and optimize branch operations. This strategic position will also own, track, and report to Region Leadership regarding the continuous improvements that align to strategic priorities that target efficiencies, reduction of operating cost and the enhancement of customer experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Track, reports, and measure metrics to optimize branch overall effectiveness pertaining to region operations.
- Champion “CX” customer experience program and ensure successful implementation for the region. Review, revise, and update policies and training as needed.
- Partner with Branch Managers and Branch Revitalization team to implement optimization improvements impacting warehouse layout changes, efficiency improvements, and staffing optimizations.
- Drive workflow optimization including but not limited to operations, sales, and service initiatives such as our OTC (On Time and Complete) implementation and digital sales efforts.
- Monitor existing and new business processes for improvement opportunities. Will also track, measure, and report progress on improvement opportunities.
- Develop a working cadence with Division VP of Operations and functional departments such as FP&A, Supply Chain, Sales, & Human Resources to uncover margin, purchasing and cost-saving opportunities.
- Serve as a change facilitator by collaborating with champions in the region, districts, and branches to transform the continuous improvement/learning culture.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through world class operations benchmarking.
- Participate in monthly P&L and progress review with Branch and District Managers.
- Exhibit and execute in a manner and mindset of excellence, improvement, and innovation, aligned with Beacon goals and performance metrics.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related operations / field-based experience
- Demonstrates progressive experience in distribution/retail operations and/or sales
- Job experience working in or leading a distribution warehouse operations team
- Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods, tools, and techniques
- Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives
- Demonstrated leadership, team building and interpersonal skills
- Ability to coaching ensure accountability using Lean Management Principles.
- Demonstrated ability to develop comprehensive company programs and processes
- Ability to be effective in a highly matrixed environment, to effectively communicate with and influence all levels of the organization and drive change.
- Demonstrated successful experience working in a demanding, high performance work environment and team-oriented culture.
- Proven ability to think and act strategically, but also willing to “roll up sleeves.”
- Proven experience managing cost savings and yield improvement projects
- Excellent leadership skills and the ability to prioritize and drive multiple projects and teams
- Excellent communications skills, both oral and written
- Strong ability to work in changing environment, see through complexity.
- Ability to assimilate and present complex information to a variety of audiences
- Strong influencing and coaching skills. Proven experience in developing and coaching a team.
- Willing to travel weekly throughout the market to maintain on-site presence at local branches
- Proficiency with Personal Computer applications (Excel, Word, Power Point, Visio, AS400 Based Warehouse Management Systems, TMS, Fleet Management and Routing Tools.)
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification a plus
