The Role

We're hiring a Residential Construction Estimator to play a critical role in the pre-construction and production phases of our projects. This is a full-time, in-office position, ideal for someone who knows the residential construction process, understands what makes an estimate profitable, and can manage multiple moving parts with calm efficiency.

This position combines estimating, project support, vendor coordination, and client-facing communicationperfect for a candidate with technical competence, professional polish, and operational savvy.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Client Communication

• Prepare accurate, well-structured project estimates using Xactimate
• Develop competitive bids aligned with project scope and timeline
• Review estimates internally before client submission
• Follow up with clients, answer questions, and communicate clearly throughout the process
• Maintain meticulous records in CRM systems

Material Coordination, Permitting & Vendor Management

• Assist the Design Team with material selections and confirmations
• Request and compare supplier and subcontractor bids
• Order and track materials for timely delivery
• Manage permitting processes across municipalities
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with vendors and trades

Production & Operational Support

• Support project managers with documentation, scheduling, and job costing
• Help monitor timelines and coordinate pre-construction tasks
• Step in with office support as needed

Industry Awareness & Process Improvement

• Keep up with pricing trends, building codes, and construction technologies
• Identify cost-effective solutions and process improvements

What You Bring

• 2+ years of experience using Xactimate for residential or light commercial construction
• 2+ years of experience estimating in remodeling, roofing, or related trades
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Comfort with CRM and construction software (Buildertrend, JobTread, etc.)
• Ability to manage competing priorities and tight timelines
• Professionalism, attention to detail, and strong follow-through

Bonus Skills

• Experience with municipal permitting processes
• Claims adjusting background
• Knowledge of residential construction workflows
• Collaborative mindset with a proactive, solution-oriented approach
