Title: Senior Buyer
Summary of Role
We are seeking a senior buyer who encompasses strategic management of procurement activities and supplier relationships to optimize the value and performance in the acquisition of goods and services for the organization. This person will lead supplier negotiations and cost reductions to ensure the company’s purchasing decisions support its financial and operational goals. By balancing cost-efficiency with quality and ensuring that procurement processes align with the company’s standards and project requirements, fostering a smooth supply chain flow and contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the organization.
How You’ll Succeed
Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure advantageous terms, including pricing, deliveries and quality specifications
Manage inventory levels of raw materials to optimize stock levels and minimize carry cost
Monitor and address potential stock shortages or overstocking issues
Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with the company’s business goals and operational needs
Oversee the purchase order process from creation to closure, ensuring accuracy in terms and conditions and compliance with company policies
Monitor supplier performance against agreed-upon KPIs and address any quality issues with the supplier
Must have flexibility, attention to detail, and excellent multitasking abilities
What You Bring
5+ years of proven experience in senior purchasing role
Experience in manufacturing procurement is necessary
Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability
Strong negotiation and contract management skills
Effective communication skills
Proficiency with ERP procurement software
Proficiency with Excel
Understanding of manufacturing processes and industry standards
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Knowledge in using NetSuite and Salesforce is a plus, but not required
Must be a self-starter
Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus
