Description

Wood is recruiting for a Lead PM and Subsea Construction Engineer to join its Consulting business.

The Role

The Lead PM and Subsea Construction Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the objectives of the Subsea Support Team and its customers are performed to a satisfactory high standard and that specific work tasks are performed safely, effectively and in compliance with the specified objectives. As such, they shall be conversant project management and subsea execution and construction.

Responsibilities

The  Lead PM and Subsea Construction Engineer shall assist the wider subsea team with all riser related activities, by supporting the subsea team to execute deep water projects. In addition, they shall:

  • Work closely with all subsea disciplines and leadership to support the execution of engineering activities during all phases of an engineering project (Concept, Pre-FEED, FEED, and Execute).
  • Construction Management Support for variety of projects including offshore involvement
  • Awareness of contracts and contractual language and experience managing contracts.
  • Preparation of work packs and execution planning for offshore projects
  • Apply advanced engineering design techniques for deepwater developments.
  • Management and approval of engineering of design reports, specifications and engineering reports. 
  • Work with other staff disciplines such as facilities, pipeline, structures, materials and support teams to implement studies and designs. 
  • Interface directly with vendors / customers as requested
  • Manage the development of construction/execution schedules for various projects
  • Offshore installation contract management support during execution
  • Construction management support activities
  • Constructability and Installation support activities
  • Risk assessment and HAZID responsibilities
  • Scheduling and management support activities
  • Progress reporting and monitoring responsibilities
  • Onshore fabrication support, management planning and oversight 
  • Offshore construction activities
  • Ensure compliance with the Company HSE Policy

The Lead PM and Subsea Construction Engineer shall ensure compliance with the Company HSE Policy. It should be noted that each person has a responsibility for the safety and quality aspects of the work that they undertake. Any concerns relating to HSE and/or the QMS should be brought to the attention of the Team Lead.

Expected: 
 

Degree qualified in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Ocean) with 25-30 years of experience with an Operator, Contractor or relevant Consulting Company.

Should also possess:

  • 20+ years supporting offshore construction of subsea developments  
  • 20+ years of managing subsea development projects at various phases
  • 20+ years’ experience in onshore fabrication of subsea components providing guidance, management, oversight of various fabricators.
  • Strong track record of successful delivery and Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organizational skills
