Job Description

 

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Risk Manager to join our Project Controls team and support high-profile projects from our Austin, TX or New York City offices.

In this role, you will provide expert guidance to clients, project managers, and project teams in developing and implementing comprehensive risk management plans. Your responsibilities will include identifying project risks, assessing their potential impact using quantitative modeling techniques, and recommending effective mitigation strategies and controls to manage those risks appropriately.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, maintenance, and updates of integrated project schedules in alignment with established planning, cost, and risk methodologies.
  • Ensure adherence to scheduling standards and project controls procedures across all phases of the project.
  • Develop and manage project milestones, progress tracking baselines, and work breakdown structures (WBS).
  • Analyze schedule data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities; communicate findings to project leadership and recommend recovery strategies as needed.
  • Oversee contractor and subcontractor schedule compliance and integration with the master schedule.
  • Provide resource analysis, assess availability impacts, and manage schedule contingency planning.
  • Lead schedule reporting, including forecast updates and earned value analysis, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain alignment on schedule objectives and performance.
  • Mentor and support the development of junior planning staff and contribute to team growth.
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.

Qualifications

 

  • Degree in Mathematics, Business, Analytics, Engineering, Planning, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience; in lieu of a degree, 10+ years in risk management, construction management, and/or project management.
  • Experience in risk management and analysis within major project environments.
  • Proficient in Excel, @RISK (QCRA), and Primavera Risk Analysis (QSRA).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver objective and persuasive reports.
  • Self-starter with excellent time management and a proactive approach to adding value.
  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Proven commitment to workplace safety and compliance with Turner & Townsend’s health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.
  • Ethical decision-making and adherence to Turner & Townsend’s Code of Conduct and related policies.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of FTA OP40c.
  • Experience on major infrastructure and rail projects.
  • Previous roles such as Risk Manager, Assistant Risk Manager, Risk Engineer, Risk Analyst, or Risk Champion.
  • PMP or equivalent project and risk management certification.

Additional Information


The salary range for this full-time role is $140K-$190K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package.  Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
