The Senior Controls & Instrumentation Engineer will play a pivotal role in the maintenance and operations of several gas turbines, working cohesively with a small team to ensure safe and efficient operations. Qualified candidates will have a strong understanding of Mark VIe and be able to diagnose and troubleshoot system alerts.


Job Duties:

  • Perform control system commissioning, including routine maintenance, equipment calibration, and the repair or replacement of control software, hardware, and instruments.
  • Execute control software upgrades, collaborating with the Home Office for development support.
  • Conduct combustion tuning to optimize system performance.
  • Act as the primary technical resource for the customer, providing expert guidance and support.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of all changes or modifications to covered equipment, ensuring swift implementation across operations.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) in collaboration with the company to measure performance effectively.
  • Ensure Monitoring & Diagnostic (M&D) services are up to date, covering all known and anticipated degradation and failure modes within your discipline.
  • Provide hands-on training for company engineers and technicians, developing a structured, evergreen on-the-job training program covering operations, performance, condition monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Mentor company staff on effective troubleshooting and issue analysis.
  • Collaborate with the company to develop and optimize maintenance schedules to enhance unit reliability and availability.
  • Adhere to contractor and company outage planning processes and deliverables.
  • Lead detailed maintenance planning activities, including pre-outage, outage, and post-outage coordination with the company.
  • Develop and document detailed work scopes for your discipline for each scheduled outage.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Intermediate to strong understanding and experience with Mark VIe Control Systems
  • 5+ years of experience with instrument calibration associated with gas turbines.
  • Working knowledge of gas turbine design and auxiliary systems.
  • Over 7 years of experience in designing, modifying, simulating, implementing, field testing, and troubleshooting logic sequences, as well as developing and optimizing Human Machine Interface (HMI) screens and interfaces on General Electric Mark controllers.
