The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Senior Risk Management Consultant (RMC) based in the Orlando, FL area to join our growing team. In this field-based role, you’ll use your construction safety expertise to assess risk, provide training, and build trusted partnerships with our policyholders and agents. You’ll work independently from your home office, spending 3–4 days a week in the field, with occasional overnight travel. You’ll also connect in person with our Raleigh, NC team up to four times a year.

Your Work as a Risk Management Consultant Will Make a Difference By:
• Conducting risk assessments and on-site safety surveys
• Preparing and submitting timely, high-quality reports
• Leading safety presentations and toolbox talks for clients and associations
• Providing risk management insights to clients, agents, and internal teams
• Collaborating with your Territory Sales Manager to support agency partners
• Managing your time and workload independently and professionally
• Representing Builders Mutual with care, credibility, and commitment

 

 

Travel Requirements

This is a field-based role with regular regional travel working with internal and external industry partners. You can expect occasional overnight stay, typically 3 to 4 nights per month—with flexibility for additional travel based on business needs.

 

Skills to get the JOB done RIGHT:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science or Technology field, or equivalent experience
  • 35 years of experience in construction safety, risk management, safety consulting or insurance
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills—verbal, written, and presentation; bilingual in Spanish a plus
  • Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Proven ability to manage time, priorities, and independent work effectively
