Mesa is seeking an experienced (8 to 14 years) Bachelor of Science degreed individual for a position in Power Substation Protection and Control (P&C) Design.  The successful candidate shall have extensive experience in the field of Power Substation Engineering Design within the US Power industry.   In addition to relevant experience, a BS-degree is required.  The successful candidate will work in an in-office (hybrid basis), collaborative team environment to provide engineering design support for P&C design of Power Substations ranging in voltage levels from 34.5K to 500kV (765kV experience would be considered a plus).  As a Senior Technologist, this individual will be expected to be skilled in all aspects of P&C Substation design and able to thoroughly develop P&C design project packages with adherence to standards and for constructability of design.  Familiarity with Bentley MicroStation and/or Autodesk ACADE would be considered a plus. Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders at all levels is required.

Education/Experience: 

• A BS Degree from an established/recognized university (required)
• 8 - 14 years of experience working in the power utility industry   

Responsibilities:  

• Perform P&C Substation design with a high degree of accuracy (Quality)
• Work well as a team member as well as individually
• Use MicroStation to create the assigned deliverables
• Interact with the Customer and meet their schedule and budgeting requirements
• Mentor junior Engineers/Designers
• Review work of other team members
• Perform work safely.

This opportunity is for a hybrid work environment (home and office) and requires residing within the Knoxville, TN area.
