Senior Superintendent 

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Superintendent to join our dynamic team in Atlanta. The primary responsibilities of this role are to enhance the performance and efficiency of our craft labor and supervision, support the growth and development of trade professionals, assist project managers and leadership with effective project staffing, as well as manage and track future labor projections.  The ideal candidate should have a significant background in related fields, preferably in a union environment, and demonstrate strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.


Key Responsibilities:

Performance and Efficiency:
  • Monitor and assess the productivity and efficiency of craft labor and supervisory personnel.
  • Implement process improvements and best practices to maximize job performance.
  • Ensure work adheres to the company's quality standards and safety regulations.

Growth and Development:
  • Collaborate with Miller's Talent team to mentor and develop trade professionals.
  • Facilitate training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the workforce.
  • Identify and nurture potential leaders among our trade professionals

Project Staffing:
  • Work closely with project managers and leadership to understand field staffing needs.
  • Assist in recruiting and allocating craft labor to ensure adequate project staffing.
  • Develop and maintain resource allocation plans aligning with project timelines and budgets.
 
Labor Projections:
  • Analyze current and future labor requirements based on project pipeline and company growth.
  • Prepare and maintain labor projection reports for strategic planning purposes.
  • Communicate labor projections effectively to key stakeholders.

Collaboration and Communication:
  • Foster a collaborative environment between project managers, foremen, and other supervisory personnel.
  • Serve as a key communicator between field operations and leadership.
  • Participate in regular meetings to discuss project progress, staffing needs, and performance issues.
  • Work closely with Local IBEW Leadership.  Communicating current and forecasted labor needs with timelines
  • Understand IBEW workforce availability and create plans to supplement as needed with third party sources.
  • If labor calls go unfulfilled work with Project Managers to ensure protocols are followed to engage third party resources  

Compliance and Safety:
  • Ensure all work complies with company policies, OSHA guidelines, and industry standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement throughout the workforce.

Workforce Development:
  • Work with Miller’s Talent team and outside partners to attract and recruit new trade professionals.
  • Assist in the development of strategic workforce planning initiatives.
  • Participate in industry events and networking opportunities to identify and engage potential candidates.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 20 years of related experience, preferably in a union environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA guidelines and safe work practices.
  • Proven track record of improving labor performance and efficiency.
  • Strong leadership, delegation, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Team player with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
