Job Description
Seeking a Senior Technical Advisor / Lead Operations Support Specialist to provide technical leadership, operational oversight, mentoring, and conduct of operations support for Site Services infrastructure and functional maintenance activities at SRS.
This position will support operations through independent oversight, technical guidance, programmatic support, operational assessments, mentoring of junior and mid-level personnel, and participation in operational improvement initiatives. The selected candidate will serve as a subject matter expert in Conduct of Operations and Conduct of Maintenance while supporting safe, compliant, and efficient facility operations.
Responsibilities include:
Provide technical and conduct of operations support to Site Services operations and maintenance organizations Conduct independent oversight of operations, maintenance activities, and infrastructure projects Support SS Infrastructure and Functional Maintenance oversight activities Monitor operational performance and identify adverse or positive trends Develop recommendations to improve operational performance and efficiency Review facility work packages and work control processes Review and communicate new or revised technical procedures, bulletins, and required reading Support operations personnel through mentoring, coaching, and technical guidance Assist in onboarding and accelerating qualifications of newer personnel Provide recommendations for improving operational and maintenance processes Support compliance with DOE orders, procedures, and operational requirements Support hazardous energy control and Human Performance Improvement (HPI) initiatives Participate in operational assessments and operational readiness activities Provide guidance to Operations, FLMs, Leads, Mechanics, and Site Services management Conduct training and evaluate operational performance as required Support contingency coordination activities when needed Maintain awareness of scheduled operational evolutions and maintenance activities that could impact facility operations
Required Qualifications Education and Experience
One of the following combinations is required:
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and 12 years of relevant experience Associate degree in a technical discipline and 16 years of relevant experience High School Diploma and 20 years of relevant experience
Additionally:
Minimum of 30 years of experience in facility operations support Minimum of 20 years of experience in management roles within Operations organizations Extensive knowledge of Conduct of Operations and Conduct of Maintenance within DOE environments Working knowledge of DOE/NNSA orders, procedures, and requirements Working knowledge of Hazardous Energy Control and HPI tool use Working knowledge of fire protection requirements in DOE facilities Knowledge of Site Services scope, fire protection, LOTO, Conduct of Operations, and Conduct of Maintenance Strong mentoring and coaching capabilities Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent listening, planning, and organizational skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Preferred Qualifications Previous SRS experience Previous DOE L or Q clearance within the past 2 years Extensive DOE Orders and Regulations experience related to DOE facilities and Site Services scope DOE fire protection experience Security Requirements
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance.
