An exciting opportunity has become available in our Recreation Services team for a Social Media and Marketing Officer on a permanent full-time basis.
In this role, reporting to the Coordinator Business Development and based at Lords Recreation Centre, the successful applicant will develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with Lords' objectives. They will create compelling digital content for online platforms and promotional collateral to support services, programs, and initiatives.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Liaise closely and build positive relationships with staff across branches to facilitate efficient production of communications and digital content.
- Produce and execute email marketing campaigns and manage email lists with HubSpot.
- Produce, publish, and maintain engaging regular and time critical content for Lords' digital communication platforms, including editing and content approval.
- Manage Lords' online reputation, including daily monitoring of activity, timely response to reviews and comments on social media and other digital channels.
- Maintain a consistent brand presence and persona for Lords' social media and other digital channels.
- Provide analysis and reports on effectiveness of outgoing digital communications.
- Maintain knowledge of contemporary digital marketing trends and best practices incorporating into digital marketing strategies.
- Develop an annual marketing and promotional plan for Lords.
- Develop and implement targeted promotion campaigns and increase engagement.
- Create and coordinate all communications, advertising and promotional collateral for Lords' service areas.
- Assist with the preparation of the marketing budget and monitor expenditure.
- Support branches to develop contemporary, appropriate and accessible digital video content and provide training in digital video production.
- Assist with preparing memorandums, Council reports and Elected Member Information Bulletins.
- Liaise with suppliers (advertising agencies, printers, and photographers) in accordance with policies and protocols.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Bachelor of Communications, Marketing, Digital Marketing, or similar and/or relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience in developing business and marketing plans and strategies leading to revenue growth.
- Thorough knowledge of, and ability to apply digital applications and technologies.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the sport, recreation and/or leisure industry.
- Demonstrated ability to create and prepare a wide range of marketing material for diverse audiences.
- High level computer literacy, graphic design skills and experience in a range of computer software packages (Microsoft Office, multimedia software and graphics software packages such as Adobe Creative Cloud).
- Demonstrated ability to understand and support strategic organisational goals and exercise initiative, judgement and creativity in the execution of tasks and projects.
- Demonstrated organisation, project management and problem-solving skills with the ability to produce high quality work within budget and tight timeframes.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability with photography and multimedia capture and production for the web, including photos, graphic design, video, animation, and audio (preferred).
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Current National Police Clearance.
Salary package
In line with the City of Subiaco Inside Staff Industrial Agreement 2025, this position is classified as a Level 6. The salary range is $97,864.00 to $107,640.00 per annum pro rata, exclusive of superannuation.
