Project Description: Deputy Vice President for the Pit Production Operations and Program (PPOP) role includes but is not limited to:

• Responsible for establishing and maintaining the SRNS LANL PPOP office.
• Will serve as SRS senior nuclear operation representative at LANL and take day-to-day direction from Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) Weapons Production Chief Operating Officer. Provide consult to LANL on conduct of operations and efforts to expand production operations to 24/7.
• Act as chief liaison between the Savannah River Site (SRS) and LANL for transfer of knowledge regarding weapons component manufacturing. Manage SRNS Knowledge Transfer (KT) Program at LANL and work to expand the effort throughout the National Security Enterprise (NSE). Knowledge Transfer provides for longer term (2+ years at LANL) assignments that expand the knowledge base for SRNS.
• Manage the SRNS Mutual Support Program at LANL. Program currently focuses on providing support to LANL in its efforts to meet pit production requirements. As SRNS nears the start-up of pit manufacturing and training facilities, this effort will include aligning LANL support for SRNS’s efforts to successfully start-up and complete Weapons Certification efforts.
• Consult and liaise with the LANL Design Agency (DA) and Production Agency (PA) to advance SRNS Production Realization Efforts (cold, non-classified, classified surrogates and Pu efforts)
• Consult and liaise with the LANL DA to ensure routine interaction with the Pit realization and development activities ongoing at LANL. Help ensure SRNS alignment with these efforts.
• Oversee LANL and SRS pit manufacturing collaboration efforts to ensure efficiency of engagements and knowledge transfer.•Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and fourteen (14) years of work-related experience; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner* Ability to obtain and retain a Q clearance
