As a Start-up Technician at Polk Mechanical, you'll be on the front lines, bringing newly installed HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems to life. You'll ensure everything is functioning flawlessly, from initial checks to final system releases. This is a crucial role where your expertise directly impacts customer satisfaction and the success of our projects. You'll work under limited supervision, making decisions based on your knowledge and coordination with our experienced management team.
In this dynamic role, you will:
- Ensure Proper Equipment Storage: When required, oversee the correct storage of equipment awaiting installation, adhering to any special requirements.
- Interpret and Refine Drawings: Review technical drawings, identify any errors or omissions, and make necessary corrections.
- Guarantee Code Compliance: Verify that all components and systems are installed in accordance with the applicable city and trade codes.
- Verify Equipment Installation: Confirm newly installed equipment is plumb, level, and properly aligned.
- Conduct Functional Checks: Test newly installed equipment to ensure it operates according to engineering or factory specifications.
- Integrate Controls: Check the interface between control systems and connected equipment for seamless functionality.
- Maintain Detailed Reports: Keep a continuous and accurate status report of all completed work.
- Manage Deficiencies: Report, document, and diligently follow up on all identified deficiencies, ensuring prompt corrective action.
- Submit Documentation: Forward all completed startup forms and documentation to the relevant Polk project manager or supervisor.
