Overview

Our team of Maintenance Technicians are responsible for many facets of our business including preventative maintenance, repairs and trouble shooting. This team provides support in our maintenance shop located in Blue Ridge, VA and provides support on the road to our quarries and worksites throughout Southwest and Central Virginia. The unique part of this position and team is the forever changing tasks and ability to learn something, if not many new things, daily. This position requires a unique candidate with a strong mechanical aptitude, willingness to work closely with a team, and the ability to multi-task or change tasks often based on priorities. The ideal candidate would be open and willing to complete welding projects as needed, while also supporting the various functions of maintenance inside and outside of the shop environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Fabrication and welding, according to original designs, drawings, and specifications
  • Mechanical field repairs to stationary equipment of varying nature
  • Driving service trucks to and from various operations and worksites
  • Operating a crane as needed for specific jobs and tasks at hand
  • Completing all work in a manner as to ensure compliance with all governmental regulations dealing with employee health and safety as outlined by OSHA and MSHA
  • Maintaining or obtaining a Commercial Driver’s License, in order to operate various levels of service trucks
  • Stick and MIG welding at a satisfactory level, with preferred proficiency.
  • Operating a torch to cut or cut out materials as needed
  • Carbon Arcing
  • Properly and safely operating service and boom trucks, skid steers and telehandlers
  • Performing manganese changes on cone and jaw crushers
  • Performing bearing changes on screens
  • Performing crusher drive repairs and more as the need requires
  • Working closely within the maintenance team, insuring efficient and appropriate communications
  • Maintaining good communication with internal and external contacts, superiors and/or teammates
  • Following all safety procedures to ensure no reportable accidents/moving violations
  • Complying with all Federal, State and corporate policies.Β  Attending and participating in all scheduled training sessions and safety meetings
  • Practicing good housekeeping, maintaining the appearance of trucks, inside and out, workspaces and shop, to a level that creates pride within the organization and a positive company image
