    Primary Purpose:
    The Construction Technology Teacher provides hands-on instruction in residential and commercial construction practices, carpentry, framing, and jobsite safety.
    Qualifications:

    Education/Certification:
    • Industry experience in construction trades.
    Appropriate CTE certification, such as: 
    • Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources Grades 6-12
    • Agricultural Science and Technology Grades 6-12
    • Any vocational agriculture certificate
    • Mathematics/Physical Science/Engineering: Grades 6-12; Grades 8-12
    • Secondary Industrial Arts: Grades 6-12
    • Secondary Industrial Technology: Grades 6-12
    • Technology Education: Grades 6-12
    • Trade and Industrial Education: Grades 6-12 - This assignment requires appropriate work approval; Grades 8-12 - This assignment requires appropriate work approval.
    • Trade and Industrial Workforce Training: Grades 6-12. This assignment requires appropriate work approval.
    • Vocational Trades and Industry - This assignment requires appropriate work approval.
    Special Knowledge/Skills:

    Construction safety, materials, techniques, tools and blueprint reading

    Major Responsibilities and Duties:
    • Teach construction tools, materials, techniques, and blueprint reading.
    • Ensure OSHA-aligned safety instruction and compliance.
    • Manage lab/shop environments, equipment maintenance, and inventory.
    • Prepare students for NCCER certifications (Core, Carpentry Level 1, and Carpentry Level 2).
    • Facilitate industry partnerships for job-shadowing and internships.
    • Support student involvement in CTSOs (Skills USA) and real-world building projects.

    Computer, scanner, printer, copier, calculator

    Mental Demands:
    Reading; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions

    Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
    Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling; prolonged use of computer and repetitive hand motions; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
