Used Equipment Sales Manager

A Used Equipment Representative is responsible for driving revenue by selling pre-owned heavy machinery, including rental fleet, to new and existing customers within a designated territory. They manage the entire sales processβfrom prospecting and valuation to closing and deliveryβwhile, providing technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities

Sales Generation: Actively prospect, generate leads, and conduct sales calls (both in-person and cold calls) to sell used equipment.

Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients in construction, or industrial sectors.

Valuation & Procurement: Evaluate used equipment condition and market value for trade-ins, auctions, and direct purchases.

Technical Expertise: Demonstrate equipment functionality, explain technical specifications, and provide solutions that match customer needs.

Administrative Duties: Prepare quotes, sales contracts, and financing paperwork while updating CRM systems with customer information. Work with marketing group for electronic, paper advertising internally and externally. Monthly rental fleet price list for sales groups as well as internet out of territory sales.

Market Analysis: Monitor competitors and industry trends to adjust pricing strategies for profitability.
Qualifications

Experience: Proven experience in machinery, construction, or heavy equipment sales.

Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of heavy equipment, machinery mechanics and refurbishment costing/estimating.

Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills for negotiation, client management and inter-departmental collaboration.

Valid Driver's License: Required for visiting customer sites and inspecting equipment.

Tools: Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel) or CRM software.
