Welder Level 1

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Welder Level 1. This entry-level position is ideal for those looking to start their career in welding, offering valuable hands-on experience and skill development in a supportive environment. As part of our Welding Shop team, you will have the opportunity to learn foundational welding techniques while contributing to the efficient operation of our shop.

What You'll Do:

• Support the Welding Shop team by assisting with daily operations and tasks.
• Learn and practice basic welding techniques under supervision.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all safety and environmental policies and procedures.
• Use appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Address safety concerns immediately with supervisors or lead welders.
• Complete all required safety trainings within designated timeframes.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support shop operations.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum one year of on-the-job training in welding, manufacturing, or other related fields or equivalent combination of work experience and a welding certification
• Working knowledge in Stick (SMAW) or Mig (GMAW) welding 
• Familiarity with the American National Standard Institute (ANSI) and American Weld Society (ASW) weld symbols
• Basic understanding of the different steel materials used within the fabrication shop
• Ability to work in harsh environments while promoting and maintaining a safe work environment
• Some travel required QUANTIFY HOW MUCH TRAVEL: 10%, 15%, 25%, etc.
• Driver’s license in state of residence is required.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift a minimum of 60 lbs.
• Ability to carry minimum of 60 lbs. over a 5-foot span
• Ability to push / pull a minimum of 50 lbs. across a 10-foot span
• Ability to lift a minimum of 20 lbs. from waist to shoulder
• Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls
• Ability to ascend and descend stairs, ladders, and scaffolding
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to bend or twist body without restriction
• Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl.
