Job Overview:
WM Miller Construction Company Inc is seeking an experienced Crew Foreman to lead daily field operations on heavy civil construction sites. As a key on-site leader, you'll supervise labor crews, coordinate equipment, ensure work meets quality and safety standards, and help keep projects on track and on budget. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in underground utilities and earthwork, can confidently operate heavy machinery, and communicates clearly with team members and stakeholders alike.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Crew Leadership: Direct and supervise the daily activities of laborers and equipment operators
  • Project Execution: Ensure work is performed to specifications, on schedule, and in compliance with safety protocols
  • Resource Coordination: Manage materials, tools, and equipment to keep the jobsite productive and efficient
  • Safety Enforcement: Promote and enforce safety procedures for all crew members and visitors
  • Communication: Maintain regular updates with the superintendent, inspectors, and office staff
  • Problem Solving: Quickly identify and resolve issues that may impact productivity or quality
  • Training: Mentor and train crew members to improve skills and team performance
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete timesheets, jobsite inventories, and other required documentation

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in construction
  • Lead Operator experience with multiple types of heavy equipment
  • Proficient in underground utility work (water, sewer, storm sewer)
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
  • Experience communicating with crews, superintendents, inspectors, and office staff

Schedule:
  • Full-time | Monday to Friday
  • Typical shifts: 10 hours/day
  • Some travel may be required depending on project location

Work Location:
Primarily regional project sites. Travel support and per diem available for assignments outside the area.
