Strategic Staffing Solutions is currently looking for an Administrative Assistant for a contract opportunity with one of its clients! 

Job Title: Administrative Assistant(Construction Environment)
Role Type: W2 only

Duration: 6 months
Location: Conway springs, KS
Schedule Onsite
Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Additional hours as required)
 
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a high school diploma or the equivalent. A bachelor's degree in business, communications, accounting, or a related field is preferred, but not required.

Licenses and Testing Required:
A successful candidate must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. This job will require intermittent travel as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

The position provides essential administrative and clerical support to the on‑site construction management team throughout a multi‑year construction project. Working primarily from an office trailer on an active job site, this role helps maintain project documentation, supports field operations, coordinates communication, and ensures the office runs efficiently. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and comfortable working in a dynamic construction environment.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Administrative support include Project Managers, Project Supervisors, Staff Engineers, and Field Management.
  • Handling confidential project documentation.
  • Assist with preparing purchase orders, invoice coding, and expense tracking.
  • Assists in planning and coordinating training and safety events.
  • Prepares monthly expense reports for supported personnel.
  • Coordinate travel planning and scheduling for individuals and groups.
  • Manage incoming calls, visitors, deliveries, and mail for the project site.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, take minutes, and distribute follow‑up documentation.
  • Maintain and organize the office trailer, ensuring supplies, equipment, and documents are readily accessible.
  • Coordinate facility scheduling and catering for large meetings and events.
  • Create requisitions and receipts for vendors.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:

  • Candidate must be very detail oriented and must be able to deal with large volumes of data and maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Requires strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • PeopleSoft and Box Systems or related systems experience is preferred. 
  • Must have the ability to apply creative problem solving and sound reasoning. 
  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities, organize workload, adapt quickly to change, and provide a high level of internal communication. 
  • Must be able to work both independently and as a member of a team.

Working Conditions:

Normal field office working conditions. Must have a satisfactory work record including good attendance.
