Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in Electrical Installations: Support Journeyman Electricians in installing wiring, conduits, switchgear, and lighting fixtures in compliance with electrical codes.
  • Learn & Apply Electrical Techniques: Gain practical experience by working alongside skilled electricians, learning how to read blueprints, schematics, and understand electrical systems.
  • Support Maintenance & Repairs: Help in diagnosing and fixing electrical issues, learning how to identify problems and apply solutions.
  • Material Handling: Assist in the organization, setup, and transport of electrical materials, tools, and equipment on the job site.
  • Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, regulations, and company policies, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Documentation: Help with maintaining accurate records of electrical work performed, including installations and repairs.
  • Safety Awareness: Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times and participate in safety training sessions.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other apprentices, journeymen, and site personnel to ensure smooth project operations and learning opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Enrollment in a recognized electrical apprenticeship program is preferred.
  • Interest in Electrical Work: A strong desire to learn the electrical trade and develop skills in the field of civil construction.
  • Basic Knowledge: Familiarity with basic electrical concepts and tools is a plus, but not required.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in various weather conditions.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail, ensuring work is performed safely and correctly.
  • Willingness to Learn: Open to receiving constructive feedback and eager to grow in the electrical trade.

Certification: OSHA 10 certification is preferred but can be obtained on the job.
