Description

  Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Project Auditor to support the Project Auditors in the financial oversight of complex programs and projects. The Assistant Project Auditor plays a crucial role in the success of our construction projects. Working in close collaboration with the Project Auditor, the APA will provide support in all phases of the construction process, from pre-construction to project closeout. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a strong work ethic, helping to ensure our projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and track all project documentation, including Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, change orders, and drawing logs.
  • Prepare and distribute meeting agendas and minutes for project meetings.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of monthly progress reports and pay applications.
  • Organize and maintain project files, and other project documents.
  • Help prepare and evaluate change order proposals.
  • Manage local subcontractors’ relationship to ensure deadlines are met and processes are followed. 
  • Communicate schedule updates to subcontractors, suppliers, and the project team.
  • Coordinate with site superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and execution of work.
  • Assist the Superintendent in resolving on-site issues and coordinating daily construction activities.
  • Serve as a secondary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Foster positive working relationships with all project stakeholders through clear and professional communication.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
Requirements

 Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
  • Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience in program controls, finance billing, or a similar financial management role, ideally in a program or project-driven environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial management software (e.g., Vista, Microsoft Excel), and understanding of financial forecasting and reporting tools.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to work with complex data, ensuring accuracy in reporting.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal and external teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze financial data, identify issues, and offer solutions to improve financial performance and billing processes.
  • Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with government contracts, construction or large-scale project programs.
  • Knowledge of financial principles within the context of government or corporate project management.
Salary Description
$60,000 - $75,000 per year
