Position Overview

We are looking for a full-time Attorney with 3-7 years of experience in construction litigation to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction defect cases and be able to handle complex litigation matters from inception through trial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse caseload of construction litigation matters, including construction defect claims, contract disputes, and insurance coverage issues.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies and arguments.
  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare and respond to discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.
  • Conduct depositions of fact witnesses, expert witnesses, and corporate representatives.
  • Participate in mediation and arbitration proceedings.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, trials, and appeals.
  • Negotiate settlements and draft settlement agreements.
  • Collaborate with expert witnesses, including architects, engineers, and construction professionals.
  • Advise clients on risk management and contract negotiation strategies.
  • Stay current on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting construction litigation.
  • Mentor junior attorneys and paralegals on construction litigation matters.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Contribute to business development efforts and participate in client pitches.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in good standing with the State Bar
  • 3-7 years of experience in construction litigation, with a focus on construction defect cases
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines
  • Experience with e-discovery platforms and legal research tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred:

  • Experience in insurance defense litigation
  • Knowledge of construction industry standards and practices
  • Familiarity with alternative dispute resolution methods in construction cases
  • Experience with construction-related contract review and negotiation
  • Strong academic credentials
