A. General Summary of the Position
The CDL Driver & General Maintenance Technician is responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to transport equipment and materials to and from job sites, as well as performing general property, yard, and facility maintenance. This role supports construction, crane operations, and overall company property upkeep for EBM Corporations.
B. Essential Functions
1. CDL Driving & Transportation
- Operate commercial vehicles (Class A), including tractor-trailers and service trucks.
- Plan routes and comply with DOT regulations.
- Perform inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Maintain logs and documentation.
- Secure loads properly.
- Report accidents or violations.
2. Loading, Equipment Support & Yard Operations
- Load/unload materials and equipment.
- Assist crane operators and crews.
- Maintain yard cleanliness and organization.
3. General Maintenance & Property Upkeep
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs.
- Maintain safe and clean work areas.
- Support preventative maintenance programs.
C. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Requires ability to occasionally perform physical work including lifting (50–90 lbs.), pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, walking, and reaching for extended periods.
- Knowledge of OSHA and agricultural safety standards.
- Basic computer and software knowledge, including iPad technology to complete and upload job tickets, trip sheets and other required paperwork.
- Must be organized and detail oriented, able to keep accurate records when required
- Safe Operation of commercial vehicles
- Knowledge of construction tools and materials
D. Education, Training and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required; vocational or college training preferred.
- 1+ years of commercial driving experience; 3+ years preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English required; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Construction or agricultural experience preferred.
E. Work Context
- Regularly works near moving mechanical parts, may work in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity.
- Use of required protective equipment (safety harness, hard hats, steel-toed shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection).
- Noise level is generally loud.
F. Special Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- Successful completion of pre-employment work-style survey, PPPO, DOT physical exam, and drug screening.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
