About Lonnie Lischka Company

We build the groundwork for large developments, land restoration, and infrastructure projects that keep communities running. We’ve built a team that looks out for each other and takes pride in doing things the right way. Around here, it’s not just about getting the job done well; it’s about working with good people and creating an environment where effort is noticed, progress is rewarded, and there’s always room for a laugh.

How You'll Get To Contribute

After 23 years with us, our Head of Surveying & 3D Modeling is retiring. You’ll work closely with his counterpart to keep the momentum going, working hand-in-hand with engineers to build precise machine control models that reflect true design intent and give our crews the clarity they need to grade with confidence.

What You’ll Get To Do

  • Provide accurate takeoffs for early coordination and planning to help identify design gaps and keep estimating sharp from the start.
  • Build machine control files that reflect engineered intent while adapting for field realities, delivering clarity and usability for crews.
  • Collaborate with Engineers to verify design intent, always working as a teammate to clean up plans and/or surfaces and catch issues before they become problems.
  • Manage models across a range of excavation projects, from 10-acre street cuts to 300+ acre master plans, maintaining consistency at any scale.
  • Deliver reliable files compatible with Trimble machine control systems so crews can hit the ground running with 100% confidence in grading precision.
  • Help keep projects moving without delays or confusion, adapting and responding quickly to scope changes or field feedback.
  • Analyze monthly topo data to track production and support accurate billing with clear, defensible progress metrics.
Schedule & Expectations

This is a full-time, in-office position, typically 50–55 hours per week, with Saturday work common when needed. We know it's not for everyone. This isn’t about rushing work out the door, it's about staying ahead of issues. It's why our crews trust the models we build and why engineers see us as true partners. We know it can be a demanding schedule, and because it’s hourly, your extra time and effort show up on your paycheck as well as in the quality of work you help deliver.

About You

  • You have knowledge of industry-standard Takeoff and Modeling software.
  • You're familiar with Trimble Business Center
  • With a wealth of heavy civil experience under your belt, you know how to keep things running smoothly on even the toughest projects.
  • Driven by your love of tech and high attention to detail, you skillfully interpret survey data to turn 2D drawings into precise 3D models.
  • You thrive on the detailed technical work, hunting for issues, and making the team shine. There’s a quiet satisfaction in knowing things went right because of what you built behind the scenes, and that’s where your pride lives.
  • You never consider "building to plan even if it's wrong." You see yourself as a true partner, collaborating effortlessly to get it right. (even when others don’t quite get what you do),

Even Better, But Not Required

  • You have some boots-on-the-ground time in the field and an understanding of construction sequencing.

What’s In It For You
