Our Project Accountant will provide direct support to project teams by managing subcontractor relationships, mitigating risk and compliance efforts, and tracking financial progress at each stage of the construction project life cycle.Β The ideal candidate should be a team player, detailed oriented and enjoy problem solving with numbers.

What you'll do

    • Study owner and subcontractor agreements and SpawGlass-specific contract terms in order to provide clarification and solutions for our partners
    • Partner with our project teams to complete cost allocations, process invoices for payment, and ensure we are compliant with our contract terms
    • Effectively communicate with project management to verify work completion, manage insurance compliance, and utilize our construction accounting software to upload and track subcontractor claims, notices, and releases
    • Complete and post monthly owner billings no later than the third business day of the month andΒ utilize aging schedules to manage accounts receivable
    • Review all invoices and determine taxability based on exempt/non-exempt owners, lump sum, or separated contracts
    • Provide project support by monitoring budgets established by project management and performing cost allocations and reallocationsΒ 

What you bring to the team

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
    • Experience in construction cost accounting is preferred, however, we will be considering recent graduates as well
    • Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and application of general accounting theory
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
