Position Overview

We are looking for a Construction Associate with 3-5 years of experience in construction litigation and related matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction law, excellent analytical and writing skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle all aspects of construction litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex construction law issues
  • Prepare and respond to discovery requests
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of cases for trial, arbitration, or mediation
  • Participate in client meetings and provide legal advice on construction-related matters
  • Review and analyze construction contracts, plans, and specifications
  • Assist in the negotiation and drafting of construction contracts and related documents
  • Manage case files and maintain accurate and up-to-date records
  • Stay current with developments in construction law and industry trends
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and other team members on complex cases
  • Attend site visits and inspections as needed
  • Assist in the development of client relationships and business development initiatives

Qualifications | Required:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in good standing with the state bar
  • 3-5 years of experience in construction litigation or related practice areas
  • Strong knowledge of construction law, contracts, and industry practices
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred:

  • Experience with construction defect litigation
  • Familiarity with alternative dispute resolution processes in construction cases
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations
  • Experience with construction project management software
  • Background in engineering, architecture, or construction management
