Location: This is an on-site position in Houston, Texas, offering the opportunity to work closely with attorneys, clients, and the litigation team in a collaborative office environment.

Note: Candidates must be licensed and in good standing with the Texas State Bar and should have 4+ years of relevant litigation experience. Construction law or commercial litigation experience is strongly preferred.

Job Description

  • Handle a wide range of construction and commercial litigation matters from case development through resolution.
  • Analyze complex legal and factual issues and prepare strong legal strategies.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, memoranda, discovery, and other litigation documents.
  • Prepare and respond to written discovery.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Attend court appearances, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and internal team members.
  • Support construction-related transactional matters and commercial project work as needed.
  • Manage deadlines, case responsibilities, and significant portions of matters independently.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys while continuing to build technical skills and subject-matter experience.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of relevant litigation experience.
  • Active Texas Bar license in good standing.
  • Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and litigation documents.
  • Strong legal research, writing, analysis, and advocacy skills.
  • Construction law, construction litigation, or commercial litigation experience preferred.
  • Deposition, hearing, mediation, arbitration, or trial experience preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and deadline management.
  • Strong communication skills, professional judgment, and ability to work well with a team.
