A Construction Mechanic plays a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of construction equipment and vehicles. This position involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of diesel engines and hydraulic systems, which are essential for the smooth functioning of construction projects. The mechanic will work closely with project managers and operators to identify mechanical issues and implement effective solutions. By maintaining high standards of repair and service, the Construction Mechanic contributes to minimizing downtime and enhancing productivity on job sites. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in diesel mechanics or a related field.
• Proven experience in repairing and maintaining diesel engines and hydraulic systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree in automotive or diesel technology.
• Experience working in a construction environment.
• Familiarity with electronic diagnostic tools and software.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in diesel engines, braking systems, and hydraulic systems.
• Perform routine maintenance on construction vehicles and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Inspect and test machinery and equipment to identify potential problems before they escalate.
• Collaborate with team members to prioritize repairs and maintenance tasks based on project needs.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts inventory.
• Other duties as assigned and required.

Skills:

The required skills in brakes, diesel engines, hydraulics, and fuel systems are essential for diagnosing and repairing construction machinery effectively. Daily work will involve using these skills to troubleshoot issues, ensuring that all systems function correctly and safely.
